KudoKid: Habits & Rewards Privacy Policy

KudoKid respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how KudoKid handles information when you use our mobile application.

KudoKid is a family habit and reward tracking app designed to help parents create child profiles, daily checklists, tasks, stars, rewards, approvals, and backup or sync app data.

By using KudoKid, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

KudoKid is designed to collect as little personal information as possible.

The app may store the following information that you create inside the app:

- Child profile nickname
- Age group
- Preset avatar or optional uploaded photo
- Checklists
- Tasks and habits
- Stars and point history
- Rewards and redemption history
- Parent approval history
- App settings
- Backup and sync settings

KudoKid does not require children to create accounts.

We do not require or intentionally collect from children:

- Email address
- Phone number
- Precise location
- School name
- Social media account
- Government ID
- Public profile
- Chat or messaging data

Parents may optionally upload a photo for a child profile. This is optional and used only to display the child profile inside the app.

2. How We Use Information

Information stored in KudoKid is used to provide app features, including:

- Creating and managing child profiles
- Creating habits, checklists, tasks, and rewards
- Tracking stars and reward history
- Allowing parents to approve tasks and rewards
- Showing progress reports
- Backing up and restoring app data
- Syncing data across the user’s Apple devices when Premium iCloud Sync is enabled

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Local Data Storage

KudoKid is designed as a local-first app.

Most app data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to use backup or sync features.

You can use the app without enabling iCloud Sync.

4. Manual Backup

KudoKid allows users to manually export and restore backup files.

Manual backup is available to all users. When you create a manual backup, the app exports your app data into a JSON backup file. You choose where to save or share that file, such as Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email, or another location.

You are responsible for where you store or share manually exported backup files.

5. Automatic iCloud Drive Backup

Automatic iCloud Drive backup is a Premium feature.

If enabled, KudoKid automatically creates JSON backup files and saves them to your personal iCloud Drive. These files are used as restore points.

Automatic backup is not real-time sync. It is a backup feature that helps you restore data if needed.

6. iCloud Sync

Multi-device iCloud Sync is a Premium feature.

If you enable iCloud Sync, KudoKid syncs app data through Apple iCloud using CloudKit Private Database. This may include child profiles, checklists, tasks, stars, rewards, history, and app settings.

iCloud Sync is used only to keep your KudoKid data updated across your Apple devices signed in to the same iCloud account.

KudoKid does not operate its own server for iCloud Sync. iCloud Sync is handled by Apple iCloud and CloudKit.

Your use of iCloud is also subject to Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms.

7. In-App Purchases

KudoKid offers optional In-App Purchases, including:

- Monthly Premium subscription
- Yearly Premium subscription
- Lifetime Premium purchase

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. KudoKid does not receive or store your full payment card details.

8. Advertising

KudoKid may show ads to free users in Parent Mode only.

KudoKid does not show ads in Child Mode.

Premium users do not see ads.

Advertising providers may process limited technical information to show or measure ads, depending on your device settings and consent choices. We do not use advertising to target children inside Child Mode.

9. Children’s Privacy

KudoKid is designed for parents and families.

Children do not need to create accounts, provide email addresses, phone numbers, location, or social networking information.

Child Mode is designed to show only tasks, stars, and rewards related to the child profile selected by the parent.

Parents are responsible for creating and managing child profiles and deciding what information to enter into the app.

10. Photos and Avatars

Parents may choose a preset avatar or optionally upload a photo for a child profile.

Uploaded photos are used only inside the app to display the child profile. If backup or iCloud Sync is enabled, photo-related data may be included in backup or sync data depending on the app configuration.

Parents can remove or change a child profile photo at any time.

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data.

We do not share child profile information with advertisers.

Data may be processed by third-party services only when necessary to provide app functionality, such as:

- Apple App Store for purchases
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit for sync
- Apple iCloud Drive for backup
- Advertising services for ads shown only in Parent Mode, if ads are enabled

12. Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect app data.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Please keep your device, iCloud account, and backup files protected.

13. Data Deletion

You can delete app data by deleting profiles, tasks, rewards, or other content inside the app.

You can also delete the app from your device to remove local app data.

If you use iCloud Backup or iCloud Sync, some data may remain in your iCloud account unless removed from iCloud storage or through app sync settings.

Manual backup files are controlled by you and can be deleted from wherever you saved them.

14. Your Choices

You can:

- Use the app without iCloud Sync
- Choose whether to enable automatic iCloud backup
- Manually export or restore backup files
- Delete child profiles and app data
- Change or remove profile photos
- Upgrade, cancel, or restore purchases through the App Store
- Disable ads by upgrading to Premium

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the Effective Date above.

Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
