GoREC Privacy Policy

GoREC is designed to record screen content and audio locally on your Mac. This policy explains how the app handles information.

Information We Collect

GoREC does not collect or transmit personal information, recordings, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers to the developer. The app does not include advertising or third-party tracking SDKs and does not require an account.

Screen and Audio Access

Depending on the recording mode you select, GoREC may access:
• Your selected display, screen area, or application window
• System audio
• Microphone input

This content is processed locally to create the recording you request. GoREC does not automatically upload recordings or provide the developer with access to them.

Permissions

GoREC requires macOS Screen Recording permission to capture screen content and system audio.

Microphone permission is requested only when you start a recording that includes microphone input.

You can manage or revoke these permissions in System Settings. Revoking a permission prevents the corresponding recording feature from working.

Local Storage and Retention

Recordings are saved to the output folder selected in the app. GoREC also stores preferences, such as recording format and save location, locally on your Mac.

Recordings remain in their destination folder until you delete or move them. Uninstalling GoREC does not automatically delete recordings you have saved.

Sharing and Cloud Services

GoREC does not automatically share recordings with the developer or third parties.

If you choose an output folder managed by iCloud Drive or another synchronization or backup service, that service may upload or copy your files according to its settings and privacy policy. This activity is controlled by that service, not by GoREC.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message. We use that information to respond to your request. Please avoid sending recordings containing sensitive information unless necessary for your support request.

Children’s Privacy

GoREC does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app’s functionality or data practices change. Any updates will be published with a revised effective date.
